father to the rescue (cherryblod & lobco)

[There's blood. The air becomes thick with it, the smell, something she recognizes all too well. It takes a moment for Lobco to realize what happened, to recognize that her father has already moved, and then the fight speeds along with her.

It seems strange that being rescued is so much more shocking than the predicament that she found herself to begin with--but she had long since stopped calling for help in her life. No one ever came.

When she realizes who it is, however, and that he has sustained an injury she's quick to take up a combative position herself.

The shark that toss to his feet with the sweep of her father's tail--she's quick to race forward and swing her leg with great force towards his head giving it a sharp crack and rendering him unconscious.]

...Right, of course she will.

[But he still doesn't want to worry Doloz!!]

Nothing for it. Let's go home.

[Lobco looks over her shoulder at the sharks, grimacing a little before pulling away ever so slightly so that they may walk. An arm remains around her father to help him--it's probably not needed, but she can't help but worry all the same.]

What made you decide to come..?

[That he had was incredible fortune, but a simple excursion to one of the nearby islands shouldn't have ended in this.]

[It isn't needed, but he won't say no to his daughter's support, or to having her close.]

Felt like something was wrong.

[He worries more than he used to, after... that. He lets her go out on her own, because that's important and he wouldn't take it away from her, but he worries.]

Was hoping it was nothing and I could tell you I just wanted to drop by.

[Her antennas droop a little. She also wished it could have been his imagination--that he could have shown up and she could have teased him a little. One way or another, however, trouble always seems to find her.

It was hard not to feel like a burden.]

Was my pleasure, dear.

[...it really was a pleasure to kill the people who wanted to hurt his daughter. He hopes she doesn't read too deeply into that statement.

Cherryblod turns his head to plant a kiss on the top of her head between her antennae.]

Would do it again without regrets.

[Fortunately for Cherryblod, Lobco took it simply to mean that he was glad to have been there for her. She knows that he feels guilty about what she's experienced in the past--though he hardly is to blame for any of it. Is it odd that upon reflection, she's weirdly glad this happened now? Hopefully it'll ebb some of that guilt--there had been a reason she had never wanted either of her parents to find out about it.

She smiles at the kiss atop her head and give a small chirp]

Now let's get you somewhere you can patch yourself up. I think the guards at the gate will likely have something on them.

Will have to thank them for the favor.

[As predicted, the guards do have some basic first aid kits on them, and while both of them want to know who could hurt Cherryblod like this, Cherryblod just tells them it all ended well.

Also as predicted, Doloz worries herself nearly sick when she sees Cherryblod come in with a bandaged shoulder. He tries his best to reassure her, but Doloz is Doloz.]

[Lobco does try to help her father calm her mother down and explain especially that it only happened because he protected her. Doloz is indeed Doloz and it takes a bit before she finally settles down (and even then she fusses over them).

In time, things settle and Lobco sets a pot of tea. Her mind is still stuck on what happened and as time passes guilt seems to seep into her more....as well as confusion. It strikes her that other than the injuries her father sustained, she's a little too accepting of what happened, as if it's only something to be expected.

And it is, isn't it?

Lobco would like to think otherwise...perhaps she had become placated since she's finally back home and it's so much better than Pitch World...but it's still not great, is it? There's a lot going through her mind when she goes to check up on Cherryblod, tray with two teacups in hand.]

Father? How's it feeling?

[Doloz is a wonderful woman - she'd have to be, to reform someone like him. She worries, and is a little too protective, but she understands who he is and what he can and will do for his family.

Cherryblod's eternally grateful.

He's lying on the bed when Lobco comes up, but sits up right away.]

Just a bit sore. Nothing to get too worried over.
