cabin in the woods (yonaka & scarlett)
Continued from here.
...no. I don't have to be either.
[If Scarlett were to be honest...if this really is outside The House (which surely it must be at this point) then she's similarly glad to be away. After all her failure, after all the people she had hurt...it was for the best.
At the same time she also felt guilty and hoped that everyone else had been freed to. Out of everyone she was the one who deserved freedom the least.]
If I may ask, where exactly are you from?

three days later
Certainly there were going to be obstacles down the line when they ran out of food, when whoever owned this place returned but...compared to everything that had come beforehand it almost seemed laughable to concern herself over those things so much.
The first two days they had ventured out to get some scope of their surroundings. The garden provided them with food, so long as they maintained that they should be okay. The forest was also teeming with animals...Scarlett had no idea how to hunt, but surely between the two of them they would eventually figure something out.
Scarlett had started drawing them a map and the plan remained to travel each day to fill it out in hopes of one day finding others.
Fortunately other than getting a little turned around for a couple hours once, they had had no problems.
It was the morning of their fourth day here, and Scarlett was stirring from her slumber as sunlight streamed in through a window. She thought it would take getting accustomed to sleeping on a hard floor with just a bunch of blankets, but oddly she found herself having little difficulty...what was more difficult, indeed was waking up.]
Hmmprhf.
[She let out a noise before turning on her stomach to plant her face right into the ground. That was better.]

On the first couple nights, it had been easier. The nights when Yonaka wasn't convinced that if she fell asleep, she wouldn't wake up in Mogeko Castle yet again. The nights when she still feared, on some level, having to run at any moment.
But a few peaceful days had helped. Yonaka had never hunted, as such, but she could stab, and that was a decent starting point for acquiring more food if they needed. Despite being a strange, unknown land, this place felt... safe.
And Yonaka really, really needed to catch up on some sleep. Which she was trying to do.]
Someone turn off the sun...
[Mrggh. Five more minutes.]

It was so strange. Scarlett knew this other girl was real. An actual person acting according to her own will. She knew that she herself now had that freedom as well. When she existed in The House it had been impossible to tell given she knew no other way of being. The differences here, however, were to many to count and even fully explain.
The simple act of needing sleep solely because her body required it in order to sustain itself was one such example.
Sleep, in which you got actual rest, was something oddly enjoyable.
Her mind was now to active to really get back to sleep so she slowly sat up, closing her eyes and letting the sun's warmth fall over her. This was nice too.
Living was really, really nice.
After a bit she finally got up (slowly and carefully so as to let Yonaka have her extra minutes) and climbed the latter down to the main room. Breakfast was in order!]

Morning... Do we have coffee?
[Not really a morning person.]

A little bit. Can you show me how to make it?
[Scarlett tried a little bit...and well. She didn't like it at all, to say the least, but it's better to know than not know.

[She hadn't really considered that Scarlett wouldn't know how, but it doesn't surprise her too much either.
blah blah making coffee goes here I don't know how to do it either]
