Alisaie pauses for a moment before continuing her story as she nods her head to Ysayle's reply.
"One day, our grandsire departed from Old Sharlayan. He had quite an argument with our father. Yet, his will was unwavering as he left. He wanted to do what was right no matter what and regardless of what opinions others had of him. I was young and naive then. I did not understand why he had to go, but I knew there was no stopping him."
There's another pause before she continues, "We watched it-- the battle through a telescope. We then heard the news of our grandsire's victory. We were overjoyed and we waited and waited for his letter and the letter arrived one day, telling us that the battle was won. However, our grandsire had perished in the battle."
She remembered crying for a very long time.
"Alphinaud and I-- we wanted to see that world. The world that our grandsire--- our grandfather had earnestly saved with the cost of his life. We wanted to truly understand."
Alisaie shakes her head, her voice partially lowering, shaky almost.
"Alas, as you can see the world isn't as beautiful without the rose-colored lens. We've learned quite a lot and we still have a lot of maturing to do. Because we have faced everything head on, including our shortcomings, we wanted to continue to protect this world that our grandsire had earnestly saved, but our way."
sorry for the extremely late reply ;w; hope it's ok
