His smile was disarming but it just made him all the more suspicious to her. Why would this person smile at her so kindly when everyone else looked at her with such skepticism, anger, and some even with hate? If she had done wrong why was he alone the one treating her with such gentleness? While she had dismissed the possibility of a trap that hardly meant there wasn't some other unfortunate reason for it. Yet try as she might Ysayle couldn't figure out the why.

She wanted to trust that smile, she wanted to so badly but it didn't make any sense to her.

At the very least his words do and her eyes flicker back up to him as he speaks. If she was being taken to the Archbishop there was hope. Often she knew Inquisitors and Knights took care of heretics all on their own, which meant that they must realize there was room for doubt in her case. Yet something about all this wasn't adding up. If that was the case why bring the Knights at all? Why all the show? This all seemed like...a lot for simply escorting her to the capital.

The gears in her head were clearly turning and she straightened her back to look more clearly at Aymeric.

If he's been appointed as her defense then she supposes she has no choice but to rely him. She knows little of how things are done in Ishgard and she doubts that she alone could convince anyone of her intention so she takes a deep breath in and nods.
