The commander is ready to brush off his comment. All heretics are children at some point. Just as all dragons are babes at some point. That she should show her hand so early when in the midst of god-fearing people is, if anything, a portent in his eyes.
Yet the rumors are never far from his mind and the very fact that Borel brought up bringing her to the archbishop makes him rethink this. On one hand he could face trouble for bothering the arch bishop with what should be a trifling matter. The stories they had heard from the townspeople of her sympathy towards dragons and lies of a time of peace were enough.
On the other hand if this man was indeed the Thordan's son then he might know better than most what their ruler would want.
It's only when Aymeric says that he will take full responsibility that the Commander finally relents and with an exhale of irritation he responds: "See that you do, Borel, and do not be blinded by her youth. With her words and actions she has deliberately turned her back on Ishgard, she is no longer of its people. Should harm come to ours because of her actions, their blood will be on your hands."
With that he turned to the archer.
"Go to the flag bearer. Tell them to signal to the others that she should be brought in, hale." For a brief moment there was a look of relief on the archer's face and they shared a glance with Aymeric, before nodding and racing off.
Ysayle knew not what the sight of a motion of two flags from the wall meant, but it must have meant something to the soldiers around her. There was a murmured exchange between them before one finally pulled his chocobo next to her and roughly grabbed her by the arm, hauling her onto their chocobo.
"Come and don't make a fuss, girl."
She's not sure what they expect her to do but she keeps her mouth shut as they race back to Falcon's Nest.
