Lobco was not like it. She never could be - the circumstances of its birth were too unique to the world it lived in for anyone to be like it. However, her experiences, in a way, had led her to have a similar way of parsing difficult emotion. There was a feeling of shame attached, of not being allowed to feel them, of having to navigate around why they were, or that it was all right to do so. It could recognize that. She needed it now.

It watched as she worked through what it assumed was a difficult question. Gently, it reached out to touch her cheek, steady her. Had it lips, it may have given her an encouraging smile. All it had were gentle gestures.

Slowly, it nodded its head to her, knowing that that wasn't what she had meant to ask - not in its entirety. There would be a further question she would want to pursue there, and it would be happy to answer for her once they arrived.
